Turkey is by far the most popular destination in the greater Middle East and one of the most popular in the world. Several of the most powerful and important empires in history occupied Turkey, bringing influences from different religions and cultures over thousands of years. Today, the country combines historic cities, ancient ruins, Mediterranean beaches, and unique landscapes. It’s a country where you could easily spend several weeks traveling and still have much more to see. Turkey is also very accessible, even from the United States, so I can see myself returning often and using it as a base for exploring nearby destinations.
Explore Istanbul

Istanbul is a mix of cultures, religions, and beliefs. As the only major city in the world that spans two continents, Istanbul has long been a meeting point between Europe and Asia. Its diversity of religion, architecture, cuisine, and history has made Istanbul one of the world’s great travel destinations.
Explore Antalya

One of Turkey’s best destinations is the seaside city of Antalya. The city is famous for its resorts, warm weather, and beautiful Mediterranean scenery. There are plenty of restaurants, nightlife, beaches, and historic places to explore in the area. Antalya is also home to a large aquarium with an impressive underwater tunnel.
