What to See
In my mind, travelers are simply people who like to do their hobbies in different places. This could range from mountain climbing, enjoying the nightlife, relaxing at a beach or enjoying the city. Experiencing new cultures and sightseeing is almost part of every trip, but depending on your interests, what you do on that trip could be completely different. No matter what type of traveler you are, there are certainly several must see places in each country. Even if you have no interest in ancient structures and civilizations it would be a shame to visit Egypt and never see the pyramids. If you're like me and usually do your best to avoid museums you won't feel complete visiting Paris if you avoid the Louvre. With that in mind I decided to make a list of these important places to make sure I'll never miss one.

This is mostly based on cities and area's in a country and I try to make each one unique. In a given country, I try to organize the list to describe the capital, the best city for culture, best places for wildlife, history etc. Some of the continents I have finished but most of them are not yet done. It has actually taken a very long time to add what I have so far, and even the places that I did finish need to be better written.

The original purpose of this list was to help me plan a trip and try to figure out the things I wanted to do in each country. Planning what to pack and if trip insurance is necessary depends on where you plan to go and what you plan to do.  After traveling to one of these destinations it's much easier to write about them and name what's important and what's not. For example I had excluded the city of Herat from Afghanistan's list, but after visiting it I think it is probably the most important city to see after Kabul. And like I visited Herat, most of the things I do while traveling aren't on the list and it's used as a guide. Click on a continent to the right and please feel free to make suggestions!
