Oceania
Most call Australia a continent, but because it's a single country and there
are so many other countries nearby some have started to group them all
together and call them Oceania. As you can see in the map above, there
are lots of island nations here, and several of them are owned by western
nations such as the US, the UK, and France. Indonesia has part of its
country in Oceania on the island of New Guinea that it shares with the
country of Papua New Guinea. There are colder parts such as Tasmania
and New Zealand, but for the most part Oceania is generally made up of
small tropical islands in the western Pacific Ocean.
