During my stay in
New Zealand I went
to a large geyser
park. On the left is a
geyser erupting in the
north island. The
right is a formation
made after the
material from the
geyser's build up.
You can see the
orange material that
has built up.
These surrounding pictures are from a place called Bay of Islands. How it got its name is pretty obvious, since
there are lots of islands and each one of them seems very unique. The tiny island that's white is not covered in
snow, but was made that way by the seagulls. There were lots of dolphins when I came here. Some followed
the boat and jumped out of the water doing flips, I never realized how huge they are until then. The last island is
the most famous one, called the Hole in the Rock.
There were some explorers in New Zealand a long time ago who
came across a hole in the ground, and when they looked down it
they saw some rushing water and vegetation. They called it this place
the 'Lost World' because it appeared underground. It's possible to
visit the lost world and repel down 300 feet to the bottom. After
you're done you have to climb out using a network of caves.
On the right is Whangarei Falls
which drops down a total of
25 meters into a nice pool
below. There is also a quick
20 minute trail near by that
takes you around the falls. .

New Zealand is a very exotic place not too far from Australia, but very different. New Zealand's weather is much cooler than nearby
Australia, and the South Island is very cold with penguins and glaciers, perfect for mountain climbers. On the left is the rocky coast in the
town of Tauranga, special thanks to Leah and Lena for being my tour guides! The right picture is of a cave that I went black water
rafting in. Black water rafting is not going down in a huge raft and diving down rapids like white water rafting. With black water rafting
you have your own tube and you float down the underground river, but there are some waterfalls about 6 feet high or so that you go
down. Later in the cave you'll see glow worms, which are all over the ceiling and make it look like stars. It's an incredible experience.
