Costa Rica

As an American, central America is one the most accessible group of countries to the US other than destinations in the Caribbean. My first country ever was Costa Rica, and unfortunately as of now that was the only time I have visited the sub continent. Sorry to say but I think Costa Rica is one of the worst pages on my site, so until I make another trip there it will have to stay like that! These small tropical countries are famous for their beaches, rainforests and volcanoes. The northern part of central America also has dozens of pyramids and ruins left behind from the Mayan cultures. The only negative points about central America is its high crime rates from gangs and drug dealers as well as unrest from the aftermath of the several wars fought over the past years. Fortunately things have been more stable recently, and places like El Salvador are once again are seeing travelers.
